YAC looks for new YOUTH

COLUMBIA BASIN TRUST YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE |YAC|
TRAVEL | LEARN | CONNECT
The Youth Advisory Committee (or YACers as we call them) is a group of involved, inspired, creative youth from around the Columbia Basin who are interested in making a difference in their communities. Columbia Basin Trust is looking for youth interested in a cool opportunity to play a leadership role in addressing youth issues in the Basin region.

Find out more and apply here.

WHAT DOES YAC DO?
Being part of the Youth Advisory Committee is a big commitment, Columbia Basin Trust is asking participants to commit to a one-year term. The Youth Advisory Committee meets at various communities around the Basin seven times throughout the year. YAC meetings are weekend events starting on Friday evening going through until Sunday afternoon. You need to be able to leave your work, school, pets and houseplants for this time!
Things we do at a YAC meeting include reviewing grant applications for the Columbia Basin Youth Grants, skill building workshops, hearing from youth or leaders in the community, policy development and community presentations. YACers also have support to attend conferences that enhance their skills and the YAC collective capacity.
You have the opportunity to gain great work and life experience to add to your resume and you get to meet other youth and travel to different communities in the Basin. All costs for meetings are covered by CBT and we work together to arrange carpooling.
